Hidden hands destroying the Tamil-Muslim relationship
Editorial: Uthayan Daily-14th Dec 2005 Events throughout the island indicate that an environment for the resumption of war is evolving. A shadow war has been let loose on the LTTE during the ceasefire period. The hidden hands behind this shadow war are being gradually exposed.
The third grade racist political agenda of some politicians, who are using the armed paramilitaries that are operating with the protection of the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) intelligence unit, is being exposed. Two members who have escaped from the paramilitary group that is operating under the name of “Karuna group” have spilt some beans. Tamil-Muslim people now have the opportunity to learn about, the hidden forces that were causing tension and confusion among them, the ulterior motives of the people behind these forces, the third grade political leadership that were operating them, and the short term gains to the paramilitary group and the politicians behind it. The people of this island and the world has the opportunity to identify the detestable conduct of the political leadership that is ready to take the lives of innocent people and put the blame on the LTTE to create tension between Tamils and Muslims. Tamil National Leader V Pirabhaharan has made a brief comment about this in his Maveerar day speech. Leader of the political wing S P Tamilselvan expanded this brief comment when he met the journalists on Friday. “Many strategies are being executed by hidden forces to destroy the Tamil-Muslim relationship. Tamil National Leadership is very keen to break these activities and build a good Tamil-Muslim relationship. Our leader has emphasized to us that we must work jointly to rebuild the weakened Tamil-Muslim relationship, and also expose the forces working against this goal of ours to destroy that relationship. Many forces are hoping to gain by creating tension among the Muslim people and thus create dissension in the Tamil-Muslim relationship. Both Tamil and Muslim people need some time to identify the hidden hands behind this plot and decide on their next step to handle it. Therefore no one should take any hasty action and fall victim to this plot. We appeal to all to first find out the truth behind these events”, said S P Tamilselvan on behalf of LTTE leader V Pirabhaharan. Many Muslim organizations have openly emphasized that LTTE must not stop with just a condemnation the killings. They have called on the LTTE to expose the hands behind it using their skilled intelligence service. LTTE has at least partially fulfilled this call of the Muslim organizations. They have through their intelligence service identified the hidden hands behind the attacks on innocent Muslim people. More shocking truths could come out in the future. Tamil-Muslim people, especially the Muslim people in the east, must be watchful of these forces that are working to destroy the Tamil-Muslim relationship. These forces could well adopt even more deceitful strategies to cover up their exposures. Therefore it is essential to be alert.
