
One hundred and thirty four civilians killed in November by GoSL forces
At least 134 civilians were killed and 28 civilians were disappeared during the month of November. Among the casualties are the 47 civilians killed in a refugee camp in Kathiraveli in the Batticaloa district.
There were 56 civilian deaths caused by Sri Lankan military bombing and shelling into LTTE areas. All other kinds of killing and disappearance by the Sri Lankan military occurred in the GoSL controlled parts of the Tamil homeland. The bar chart below shows this statistics. Jaffna remains a death trap for the civilians as it has for the last several months. Due to death threats by the Sri Lankan military at least 24 youths have been surrendered to the courts and they have been ordered to be placed in prison for their own protection.
