International maritime organization informed of Jordanian crew safetyThe Secretary General of the LTTE Peace Secretariat, S Puleedevan, has contacted the International Maritime Organization to inform the safety of the crew of the Jordanian ship that drifted into the Tamil Eelam waters on Saturday morning following mechanical failure.ICRC has also been contacted by the Coordinator of the LTTE Secretariat for UN and International Agencies, M Thiagaraja, regarding the safe return of the crew. In the meantime, the Jordanian ship drifting further towards the shore has struck the bottom and is stranded.
