
GoSL operated forces kill three Batticaloa civilians in one day
Three civilians were shot and killed by GoSL operated forces in Batticaloa on 21 June.
Kanthasamy Thavarajah (20), a rice mill worker, was shot and killed near the Jeevapuram railway station in Akkaraipattu. Residents said that Sri Lankan army soldiers interrogated workers at the same rice mill where Thavarajah works before he was killed. Shanmugam Jeyaratnam (39), a cow shepherd, was shot and killed near the Vinayagapuram school on Kalmadu Road in Vinayagapuram.
Milred Roy Weld (39) was shot and killed at his home in Jeyanthipuram. His father Milred Weld (64) was seriously injured in the shooting. Both men were at their home on Semakkalai Road when they heard gunshots coming from the Jeyanthipuram SLA camp. When they went outside, gunmen fired at them.
