Please allow families to collect the bodies of those killed
Massacre of close to 40 people in Allaipiddy on 13 August continues to be surrounded by mystery. Most families displaced from Allaipiddy after this. A month has passed since the killing.
So far 25 bodies were collected and handed to the families on three separate dates spread over the month. Twelve more Allaipiddy families believe the bodies of their loved ones are still lying and decaying in Allaipiddy. Following their appeal, the Jaffna branch representatives of the Sri Lankan Human Rights Commission went to the Kaytes Sri Lankan military camp on 5 September and and appealed for permission to collect the bodies.
