
Activities of GoSL operated forces – 6 to 7 August
Jaffna: T Partheeban (24) was shot and killed by GoSL operated gunmen in Annaikoddai on Sunday, 6 August around 7.30 pm. Partheeban was working as a three-wheeler driver.
Jaffna: Kandiah Suthakaran (33) was shot and killed by GoSL operated gunmen in Kopay on Sunday, 6 August around 1.00 pm. The gunmen came on a motorbike. Suthakaran is the owner of a bicycle repair shop and has three children. Jaffna: Tharumu Theesan (24) was shot and killed by GoSL operated gunmen in Sirupuddy when he was walking home from work on Monday, 7 August around 7.50 pm. Witnesses said that the Sri Lankan army (SLA) was close to the incident location at the time of the shooting. Theesan worked as an auto-mechanic and lives at Annamar Kovilady. Batticaloa: Kanapathipillai Kamalanathan (22) was shot and killed while he was sleeping in his home in Kurinchy Nagar on Monday, 7 August around 2.00 am. Kamalanathan was sleeping in his home when GoSL operated gunmen entered, took him outside and shot him at Maruthanagar junction. Batticaloa: The homes of Mylvaganam Arumugam and a Tamil family of six were burnt to the ground by GoSL operated forces on Monday, 7 August. The homes were located on Batticaloa-Kalumankerni Road. Residents said the GoSL operated forces came in a white van and motorbikes. No one was injured in the attacks.
