
Sampur comes under SLN attack
Sri Lanka Navy carried out an attack on the villages in Trincomalee that is in the LTTE administered area. The attack was carried out using artillery and guns. One child was wounded in the attack.
 From 11.00 am on Monday SLN continued its attack with artillery from large Naval boats along the coast. Villages of Sampur, Soodaikuda, Konithivu and Kadatkaraichenai in the Muthur area were hit by the artillery fired by SLN. One child sustained injury and several houses were badly damaged. School children had to run out of their schools to look for safety. Italian workers working on a project for tsunami rebuilding in the area were also forced to take cover from the fallig artillery. Trincomalee LTTE Political Head Elilan said that the attacks were carried from very close to the shores. SLMM visited the area and inspected the damages caused by the SLA firing.
