Activities of GoSL 27-28 June
Batticaloa: Killed: Unknown gunmen on motorbikes, shot and killed 3 youths, 250 metres from the Mayilampaveli SLA, 7 Kms north of Batticaloa town. 8:30 p.m. on 28 June. The bodies of the three youth were also burnt using petrol. The three youths killed are, Mahes Vasanthakumar (26) of Kegale, Navaratnam Arunasri (22) of Vipulanthapuram in Mayilampaveli, and Muthukumar Kuruparan Krishnakumar (21) residing temporarily in Mayilampaveli. There are many refuges displaced Mayilampaveli by recent SLA violence and harassment.
Mannar:Killed: Three civilians were killed by claymore attack by the SLA deep penetration unit in the LTTE area of Kokkupadaiyan on 28 June at 4.03 pm. The civilians were transporting sand when their tractor-trailer unit came under the SLA claymore attack. The names of the civilians killed are, Jacaob (51), Suthakar (22) and Sebamalai Suresh (29). Jaffna:Disappeared: Kanesamoorthy Jegaruban (23) of Allarai in Meesalai was arrested by the SLA on 27 June night at 7.00 pm from his home. He has been reported missing since then. His family has lodged complaints with authorities.
