
SLA carries out non-stop shelling across FDLs into LTTE area
On the night of 19 May 2006, starting from 11.00 pm until 4.00am next morning, SLA shelled towards Kilali area along the northern FDL of the LTTE from the A9 road. SLA used 80mm mortars and 120 mm artillery during the attack.
SLMM was informed of this attack and they are going to the site on the afternoon of 20 May. At 7.30 am on 20 May, a similar continuous attack was conducted by SLA along the Nagarkovil FDL of the LTTE. SLA used 50 calibre guns, tanks and artillery in this attack. LTTE retaliated and SLA stopped firing. The SLA attack lasted for 45 minutes.
