
Two fishermen found dead in their boats in Pesalai sea
Savariyan Robinson (19) and Sahayam Ajithkumar (16) of Pesalai in Mannar were fishing in the Pesalai sea on Friday 20 October. Other fishermen have seen them in the sea with their boat having some engine troubles. The two youths had gone missing since.
 Later, their boat was sighted again 15 knots north of the Pesalai sea. Fishermen went to the boat and found the two young fishermen shot dead in their boat. Pesalai fishermen expressed the view that there was heavy Sri Lankan Navy movement in the area at that time and the Navy has shot dead the two young fishermen. 15 fishermen were killed at sea by the Sri Lankan Navy since April of this year.
