General shut down in BatticaloaThere was ageneral shut down in Batticaloa, condemning the kidnapping of seven TRO humanitarian workers at Welikanda.
Educational institutions, government and non-governmental offices, commercial institutions and shops were completely closed. The NGO workers forum in Batticaloa district has urged the Sri Lankan authorities to take immediate action to secure the immediate release of the humanitarian workers.
