Planning behind Allaipiddy massacre gradually revealed
Two injured victims of the 13 May massacre in Allaipiddy, an islet off Jaffna, in which nine people from one home, including two very children, were murdered, have given their statements to the investigating judge. The victims have told the judge that they know the Sri Lankan Navy persons who came to the home to shoot.
Judge, Jeyaraman Rocky, ordered the police to give protection to the victims who are still receiving treatment at the Jaffna hospital. In the meantime, a shop owner in Allaipiddy has revealed that a Sri Lankan Navy personnel who is a regular at his shop has told him to shut his shop that day because plans are afoot to carry out the massacre. The Sri Lankan Navy person has apparently told the shop owner he does not agree with killing civilians but the plans are made higher up and he has no say in it.
