Sampur villages devastated by the Sri Lankan military onslaught
The LTTE military spokesperson, Ilanthirayan, said that the four day assault by the Sri Lankan military on Sampur has left the villages of Senaiyoor, Kaddaiparichchan, Kanesapuran and other villages in Sampur in total destruction.
More than 1200 families were forced to displace from these villages. All of these families were already displaced from elsewhere in Sampur due to shelling by the Sri Lankan military over the past few months. Homes and public buildings have been destroyed. Crops have been totally damaged. Most of the livestock has been killed. The Kfir bombing is putting the displaced people in a constant state of fair. No effort is being made by the Sri Lankan military, the Sri Lankan government to send relief items of food and tents for the displaced people.
