
Another Tamil civilian disappearance after arrest
Ramasamy Selvarasa (44) was arrested by the Sri Lankan army (SLA) after a claymore attack in Uduvil , Jaffna on 19 July and is now missing. Selvarasa was walking to his house in Navaly after finishing his day's work as a fishermen at the time of the incident.
When his wife in inquired about his arrest, the SLA denied arresting Selvarasa. His wife lodged a complaint at the Jaffna Human Rights Commission and stated in her complaint that there are eyewitnesses to his SLA arrest. The Human Rights Commission also contacted the SLA camp and was notified that no such arrest was made.
