
Two claymore attacks by SLA in the north kill eight civilians
Two claymore attacks by the Sri Lanka Deep Penetration unit within five hours, at 1.50pm and again at 8.30pm, killed eight civilians. In both incidents the victims were travelling in tractor-trailer to work in the paddy fields.
 In the first claymore attack at 1.50pm, the tractor-trailer was travelling in Munrumurippu in Panankamam when it came under attack. The four people killed are, Parthipan, Shanmugalingam Thavarasa, Selvaratnam Senthuran, and Gunabalasingam Jegakirithan. The second claymore attack at 8.30pm on another tractor trailer with four civilians occurred when it was travelling from Maruthamadhu towards Olumadhau. The four people killed in this incident are, Vimalathas, Kandasamy, Mariyan and Vijayakumar.
