
SLA claymore in LTTE area kills two Sinhala workers
On 8 June 2006, at 12.45 pm, an SLA claymore attack in LTTE area in Mannar district killed two civilians.
The blue transport vehicle, carrying the number plate CPHF 5832, belonging to a contracting firm, Thuppara, was traveling from Pallamadu towards Sannar tank in the LTTE area of Mannar. The two workers killed were going to work on a water tank restoration project. The two civilians who were killed, H M Amarasekara (45) and A Ginathara, are from Polonnaruwa and belong to the Sinhala community. The attack is suspected to have targeted one of the Mannar LTTE commanders who was traveling just five minutes behind the vehicle that was hit.
