SLA sieves Jaffna publicSince April 14, SLA has started to sieve the entire public going through the following areas: Nallur road, Iluppaiyadi junction, Jaffna main road, Pannai junction, Mandaitivu junction, Allaipidi junction, and Puliyankoodal junction.People who were nor carrying their identity card were held back for long time. Vehicles were stopped and passengers and drivers were made to get off. All things in the private cars were put through long search. Workers and patients are seriously affected by the delays caused by this sieving operation. SLA is traveling in Jaffna roads in heavy trucks. Another troubling action by SLA is that they avoid standing on the road and instead standing behind walls of private sections and behind the walls of temples. SLA’s sieving and other activities in Jaffna makes Jaffna appear like a war zone.
