
GoSL operated paramilitary kill five more since NEIAP Director assassination
Five Tamil civilians have been killed by GoSL forces and GoSL operated paramilitary since the assassination of the NEIAP Deputy Director, Ratnam Ratnarajah, on 26 May. These murders have all taken place within 24 hours of the murder of the NEIAP Director. Four were killed in Jaffna and one was killed in Batticaloa.
L Yasotharan (35), a small business owner, was shot and killed in front of his shop in Neervely, Jaffna. Mather Sellathurai (75), a Tamil National Alliance (TNA) candidate, was shot and killed at his home in Achchuveli, Jaffna. Sellathurai is the fifth TNA candidate to be assassinated since April. Puvanendran Bolder Mayooran (27), a small business owner, was shot and killed in Ariyalai, Jaffna. Sinnathurai Puviraj, a small business owner was shot and near his home in Achchuveli, Jaffna. A relative of Puviraj, Sathasivam Ramakumar, was seriously injured when he tried to save Puviraj. Narayappaillai Kangasooriyan (29) was shot and killed near Ayesha Balika Maha Vidyalayam school in Akkaraipattu, Batticaloa.
