Activities of GoSL operated forces – 14 July
Batticaloa: Sakthivel Sivasankaran (28) and Thasan Thevarajah (24) were found dead with gunshot wounds near the forest area of Pollonaruwa border on Tuesday, 11 July. The two men, from Kattumurivu, went to the forest to collect honey on 22 May and did not return. Relatives of the victims discovered their bodies during a search and buried the remains at the site.
Trincomalee: The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) from the Monkey Bridge camp in Palampottaru shot and killed two civilians who were traveling on the road on Wednesday, 12 July around 8.45 pm. One of the civilians was identified as M Sureshkumar (24) and the other civilian has not yet been identified. Sureshkumar is a local NGO worker. Amparai: The LTTE Political office in Amparai was damaged by GoSL operated forces on Thursday, 13 July around 7.40 pm. The office, located in the GoSL controlled area near the Thampiluvil school, was damaged by gunmen who came in a white van and on four motorbikes. The gunmen entered the office and set fire to furniture, and threw a grenade into the office. The sign outside of the office was also damaged.
