Farmer murdered in TrincomaleeThambaya Jeyaraj (50) was guarding his farmland in Lingapuram on the night of Saturday, 28 January. It is a common practice of farmers in this area to guard their field from wild animals at night. Jeyaraj’s dead body was found in his field at 9:30 pm. Jeyaraj is the second person to have been murdered in the last two weeks in Lingapuram which is inside the Sri Lankan military-controlled region.
