SLA ensues firing at LTTE posts in TrincomaleeAt 2.30 pm Saturday, 8 April the SLA came forward and attacked the LTTE forward defense line (FDL) at Thoppur, Mutur East in Trincomalee. The LTTE counter-attacked and direct firing by both sides continued for some time. In this incident one SLA soldier was killed and one LTTE member was also killed. The SLA then retreated to the no-man’s land between the two areas controlled by both sides in Thoppur and the SLA continued with their attack.It is worth noting that around the same time the LTTE’s FDL at Ganeshapuram also came under attack by the SLA shelling. 09 April 2006
