
LTTE averts SLA claymore mine
LTTE auxiliary members intercepted a group of Sri Lankan Army (SLA) soldiers of the Deep Penetration Unit (DPU) on Nedunkerni road between Nainamadu and Puliyankulam on Tuesday, 13 June around 11.00 am.
 Photo:National Television of Tamileelam (NTT) The SLA soldiers were planting three claymore mines. LTTE attacked the SLA’s DPU team and the DPU team was forced to abandon their plan and flee. In the ensuing gunfire one SLA soldier was killed. LTTE members recovered various SLA equipment from the site, including bags belonging to SLA, ammunition, and communication devices. SLMM inspected the site and the body of the SLA soldier. LTTE Commander Velevan explained the how the SLA claymore attack was prevented. Two LTTE members were killed in this incident.
