
Activities of GoSL operated forces 4-6 June
Abducted and KilledBatticaloa: The dead body of the civilian abducted in a white-van by GoSL operated forces on Sunday 4 June at 8.30 pm, in Navatkadu in Batticaloa, was discovered on Monday 5 June with gunshot wounds near Navatkadu Hindu College.
Jaffna: The body of a Hindu priest, Venkata Krishna Sarma, who went missing near the Kaithady SLA checkpoint on 26 May, was discovered partially buried in an SLA dominated area in Kaithady on 5 June. The body had been unearthed by wild boars and later discovered by workers who went near the area for sand mining. Killed On 6 June, GoSL operated forces shot and killed the security guard of the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital in front of the hospital. The victim is Sivalingam Rajanikanth (25). The location of the incident is inside a military zone in the middle of Batticaloa town. On 4 June, a civilian was shot dead by the SLA near the Kaluvakerni SLA camp on accusation that he was about to throw a grenade at the SLA. The victim’s wife stated that her husband was drunk at the time he was shot and killed. Shelling On 6 June, SLA carried out shelling on the residential part of Mutur east in the LTTE area in Trincomalee. Sri Lankan Navy conducted a simultaneous attack on the same area using gun boats. Four houses were damaged due to this combined attack.
