Killings and abductions

Trincomalee

Father and son business partners from Kanthalai on their way in a vehicle were shot by gunmen. Father was killed on the spot and his son escaped without any injury.

Four youths were abducted by Karuna group from the welfare Centre in Alasthoddam on 9th November. Armed Karuna group men came in a white van and abducted the youths at gun point.

Batticaloa

Subramaniuam Chandrabos aged 31 from Maruthanagar in Valaichenai was found dead with gun shot injuries on Saturday. He was taken from his house by the armed men last Friday. He was displaced from Vadamunai and settled in Valaichenai recently.

Krishnapillai Mohanathas aged 24 was shot and killed and Amirthalinkam Thuneshkar, aged 22 was seriously injured by armed men at Arayampathy bus stand two days ago.

Another man aged around 35 years was shot and killed at Alayadivempu in Akkararaippattu last Friday. He has not been identified yet.

Vavuniya

A body of a youth was found with gun shot injuries in Puvarasankulam road around 8.20am yesterday. The youth was identified as Pirapakaran aged 32.

Jaffna

Chairman of Koddadi Fishermen Co-operative Society was shot and killed by the Sri Lankan military on 9th November. Arumukam Viknarajah aged 50, a father of 13 children was shot and killed at 2nd cross street in Point Pedro. Arumukam Viknarajah was shot and killed when he was returning from the temple.

Alakar Saravanakumar aged 34 was shot and killed while he was at his shop and his assistant Nadarajah Nishanthan aged 24 seriously injured by the Sri Lankan military yesterday.

Yesuthasan Sabaratnam, aged 35 was shot and killed by the Sri Lankan military at his house in Naranthanai, Kayts yesterday.

Two bodies including that of a school boy were found at Point Pedro road in Anaipanthy junction yesterday. Rajeevan aged 14, a school boy of Kondavil Paranchothy Vidyalayam and Thankarupan Jeeva aged 21, both from Kondavil east, were abducted by the Sri Lankan military in white van.

The bodies were found with gun shot injuries in their head and with their hands tied behind.
