
Tamil members of parliament recently killed and attacked
Following the assassination of member of parliament Raviraj, various media has produced lists of Tamil political representatives who have been murdered. There were some serious omissions in these lists.
 The list below includes murders of two sitting Tamil members of parliament, attempted murder of one sitting member of parliament, murders of two former members of parliament and murders of two candidates from the TNA list members, who were also active community leaders.
All of them were murdered since the ceasefire agreement was signed. Members of parliament and TNA candidates killed in chronological order 1. A Chandra Nehru, former Member of Parliament for Amparai, shot and killed on 23 Feb 2005, while traveling from Kilinochchi to Batticaloa near Batticaloa. 2. Joseph Pararajasingam, Member of Parliament for Batticaloa, shot and killed on 24 December 2005, in a church in Batticaloa town. 3. Vanniasingam Vigneswaran, selected by TNA to replace Joseph Pararajasingam, shot and killed on 7 April 2006, on his way to work in Trincomalee. 4. Arumugam Senthilnathan, a list candidate in the TNA list, shot and killed on 26 April 2006, in his shop in Vavuniya. 5. Sinnathamby Sivamaharasa, a former TNA Member of Parliament, shot and killed on 21 August 2006, near his home in Jaffna. 6. Sivananthan Kishore, TNA Member of Parliament for Vavuniya, was attacked by grenades attack on his home in Vavuniya, on 29 Oct 2006. (failed attempt). His body guard injured 7. Nadaraja Raviraj, TNA Member of Parliament for Jaffna, shot and killed on 8 Nov 2006, in Narahenpitiya in Colombo.
