
Civilians Killed in Northeast by SLA’s firing
Batticaloa
A civilian was shot and killed by the SLA at Thevapuram in the Batticaloa. Kanthasamy Sanmuganathan(32) was shot and killed on his way to the shops by the SLA from Siththandi Camp during their patrol in the Batticaloa-Valaichenai road.
The SLA alleged they shot him while he was trying to throw a grenade at them. But people at the scene say, the SLA placed a small gun near Kanthasamy Sanmuganathan’s body and photographed and videoed the body with the small gun. This was the second incident of this SLA patrol killing civilians during their patrol. A 24 years old fisherman was shot and killed by the same army patrol last weak. Jaffna In another incident a bakery owner was killed in the High Security Zone of Point Pedro town. The victim was Sinnaiah Rasaiah (41), living near an SLA Brigade Head Quarters.
