Sri Lankan military on all day offensive in Trincomalee20 civilians killed and 26 injured.Starting at 3.00 am on 28 August, the Sri Lankan military has been shelling Kilaththimunai and Thopur in Trincomalee and is attempting to move land troops into these LTTE areas.
At the same time, the military shelled and dropped aerial bombs in Paddalipuram. 20 civilians have died so far and 26 have been injured. Sri Lankan Navy also fired from naval gunboats towards Ilakanthai. These attacks are continuing late into the day. 28 August 2006
