SLA activities in the Northeast on 27 April 2006Thayanithi gang raped and murdered by SLA soldiersSPonnuthurai Thayanithi (27) of Kalmadu in Vavuniya was abducted by a group of SLA soldiers who have raped and murdered her. The postmortem report performed at the Vavuniya hospital confirmed that she had been raped and murdered. Businessman shot in Jaffna A tea shop owner in Polikandy in Jaffna was shot and seriously injured by gunmen on motorbike on 27 April at 7.00 pm. The injured man Krishnapillai Kuhanenthran (33) was shot inside his tea shop in Aladi Junction in Polikandy in front of his daughter. He is seriously injured and has been admitted to Jaffna hospital. Jaffna Technical College Security Guard shot dead The night security guard on duty at the Jaffna technical college was shot and killed by gunmen who scaled the walls of the institute. The killing happened on 27 April at 8.40 pm. The dead man is Thangarasa Kamalalojan (37) of Palpannai Road in Thirunelvely. 29 April 2006
