
Attacks and extreme harassment of Jaffna fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy continues...
One fishermen at sea was injured by the shooting of SLN on 22 April in Kaddaikau seas in Jaffna.
Fishermen were fishing at 8.00 am on 22 April, four nautical miles from the shore, in the Kaddakadu seas off Jaffna coast. An SLN gunboat came upto 200 metres from the fishermen and opened fire. One boat belonging to the fishermen was damaged. Following this the Naval boat came even closer to the fishermen and threatened them and again opened fire. One fisherman, Jamis Venislas (41), was injured by the shooting.
